Las Vegas Dog Park Review: Police Memorial Park

Las Vegas Dog Park Review: Police Memorial Park

Location: 3250 Metro Academy Way, Las Vegas, NV 89129
Spot Rating: 72/101

This past weekend, dad and I wanted to visit a dog park that stood out from all our other park visits. We had heard good things about the Police Memorial Park, so we decided to pay it a visit. Police Memorial Park is dedicated to our city’s police officers and includes a Memorial Wall with two tree groves to memorialize our fallen heroes. Located in northwest Las Vegas, their dog park can be visited from 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM.

Police Memorial Park is a beautiful park with several displays to honor the LVPD. If nothing else, I would suggest dragging your hooman here to take in all the beautiful sites at least once. This is a fairly large park with running trails, a tennis court, skatepark and pickleball court. I’m not too familiar with pickleball, but my hooman likes pickles, so I would assume it is just as good.

This dog park is on the smaller side in comparison to some of the parks I've reviewed in the past. However, there was just enough space to play fetch, make new friends, and roll around on the luscious grass. Police Memorial Dog Park is split into a small and large dog section, but we found that this rule was ignored by most visitors and their hoomans. Since the park is on the smaller side, seating is very limited, so I'd suggest packing a travel chair! Unfortunately, Police Memorial Dog Park does not have any trees or shaded areas to protect you from the heat during the dreadful Summer months.

In my book, Police Memorial Dog Park gets a 72 spots out of 101. While the dog park itself does not have a lot of amenities to be snout-over-paws for, the rest of the park is sure worth visiting. Police Memorial Park is a place that honors and commemorate our city's police force and there are multiple heart-warming monuments to scope out around the park. So next time you are in the area, be sure to check this park out.
